On August 22 2023 it was sadly confirmed that Toto Cutugno had passed away at the age of 80.
Toto Cutugno is most well known within Eurovision circles as the winner of the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest however, his music was far wider reaching.
His song L’Italiano, which he entered into Sanremo in 1983, became a worldwide hit.
He was selected to represent Italy in 1990 with his song “Isieme: 1992” which celebrated European integration and peace.
He co-hosted the 1991 contested alongside Gigliola Cinquetti.
